Youthful Vitality

Hi Love,

Quote of the Week -- "Of course you have to go out on a
limb sometimes; that's where the fruit is." --- anonymous

I open today with the idea of creating a freedom of spirit
that enables us to grow young. There is nothing that says
that as we grow older in age that we have to give up our
creative energy and vitality of our youth.

Researchers characterize youthfulness as the need to love
and be loved, curiosity, inquisitiveness, thirst for
knowledge, need to experiment and learn, imagination,
creativity, open-mindedness, joy, spontaneity, enthusiasm,
sense of humor, playfulness, optimism, resilience, and
flexibility. How many of these traits do you claim as
being a part of you? I find that society leads most people
to grow old. It is time to claim what is rightful ours and
live more effectively and joyously than we may ever have
dreamed possible.

You can express youthfulness in all that you do. Take time
to determine what area of your life where you feel cynical
in your opinions, stiff in your behaviors, rigid in your
beliefs, or fixed in your attitudes. What's important is
your willingness to remain open minded and your choice to
be free. Do you know someone who seems exceedingly old for
their age? They may be tired, cranky, stiff, and
judgemental about other people and the affairs of life. Do
you know someone who seems youthful and energitic for their
age? You could be young and feel old or old and feel
young, age has little to do with who lands where.

Choose to express your natural gift of cummunicating
youthful traits. These traits are to be enjoyed throughout
your life. If you have children of your own or friends
with children, listen to them express their natural gifts
of youthful vitality. I find myself being surprised at
what my children can teach me again, and again, to express
qualities of imagination, creativity, playfulness and sense
of humor. Rekindle these qualities and choose to express
them as your own once again. In doing so you will find
your body, mind and spirit energized, enjoying unbridled
vitality, and exuding youthful energy and childlike
curiosity.

Being in tune with our inner self is where we stive to be.
Gay Hendricks explains, " Think of yourself for a moment as
a beautiful acoustic guitar. Life is always playing on our
strings, and sometimes none to gently. If we try to
arrange it so life doesn't get to us--so our strings are
never plucked--we don't get to hear the music. If we let
our strings go slack through disuse or lack of care, we
never get to know what we could sound like. If we keep
ourselves in tune, we can hear all the overtones and
vibrations of ourselves and our neighboring strings. It is
the space within the guitar that makes the sound what it
is. If we become sensitive, we can hear the silent space
at the heart and soul of our instrument, the very source
from which all the sound emerges."

Gay Hendricks book "Conscious Living" was sent to me by a
friend after they read my last Gift of Inspiration. It
surprised me that a book existed with this very name
"Conscious Living" I read it right away. I resonated with
this so much. I almost thought Gay Hendricks was a part of
me. But let us not forget, all I see is a part of me, and
you. We are all one.
